PostGrade Address Checker

Whether you're planning an effective mailing campaign or responding to a customer query, you can make sure your mailing list is accurate with PostGrade's address checker. The tool validates addresses at the point of entry. It automatically standardizes data, reduces the bounce rate, and prevents bad addresses from entering your system.

The address checker works by matching standardised addresses with Royal Mail's Postcode Address File (PAF). The PAF is the authoritative address database in the UK. It includes over 30 million addresses, including details of businesses and buildings. It's updated by Royal Mail's 90,000 postal workers, who contribute around 3,000-5,000 changes a day.

Royal Mail's PAF is also enhanced by the Ordnance Survey's detailed property data. This includes property ownership details, UPRNs (Unique Postal Reference Numbers), and GeoPlace data. The PAF is also updated with details of new constructions, deletions, and changes.

Royal Mail's PAF database is the most comprehensive address database in the UK. It contains details of all delivery points across the country. It's updated daily, and its data is checked for accuracy. It also contains details of rooftop accuracy, pick-up and drop-off locations, and points of sale.

The PAF is also enhanced with the Not-Yet-Built (NYB) file, which improves data quality. This file helps solve confusion about addresses for under construction projects.

Royal Mail's PAF database includes BFPO (British Forces Post Office) addresses. It also contains full addresses for every place in the UK. It's updated by Royal Mail's postal workers, and it's one of the few address databases in the world that are completely updated every day.
